“Building and equipping the church through satellite”

Television is very popular in Iran, with more than 80% of Iranians being regular viewers (source: BBC). Despite a ban on owning satellite dishes, there are more than 20 million Farsi-speakers with access to satellite TV in and around Iran – and this number is growing every day! (sources: SAT-7, CNN, Sammy Tippit Ministries, The Jerusalem Post)

We believe TV is a key medium for teaching and equipping house churches across the country. Right now, the harvest is ripe for reaping and we are using this powerful tool to preach the gospel and reach the lost. At the same time, these same people are able to build the foundations of Christian faith and be edified in their walk with God through teaching and discipleship programmes on TV.

222 Ministries International has pioneered the use of the TV to build and strengthen churches, and reach Iranians with the Gospel message:

222 TV Timeline

From the beginnings of 2001 when 222 TV launched the first ever Farsi Christian TV programs through to March 2006 when we launched the first 24/7 Farsi Christian channel, we have seen viewers increase at phenomenal rates. Well over 4 million Iranians regularly watch Christian television programs and the phones never stop ringing at our call centre! Conservative estimates show over 1000 Iranians are coming to Christ every month!

“Hello and thank you for your wonderful programmes… You would probably not believe it but my family is educated and no-one was prepared to accept God. But by watching your programs and understanding the truth we have all come to believe in Jesus Christ and are very happy…”

- Ali & Sharareh, Iran
