There are 23 million Internet users in Iran (sources: CIA, BBC -2007). Iranians are amongst the highest users of the Internet in the non-western world and with over 200,000 bloggers, Iran has the 4th largest community of bloggers in the world! (Geonames estimates are closer to 300,000 with 43,000 of them originating from inside Iran; in Aug 2006, the EU put Farsi as the 2nd largest blogging language).
Through the Internet, we are able to provide millions of Iranian Christians with thousands of free-to-download teaching materials in text, audio and video formats. Through the Farsi Christian Resource Centre, Christians and seekers can find teaching and training resources for any aspect of Christian life. Through the Farsi Christian News Network, Iranians can read the latest news and developments, all from a Christian view-point.
Through the safety of anonymity on the Internet, we can enrol hundreds of emerging Iranian leaders on our online Bible College, train them, equip them and empower them to step into their calling.
More than 70% of Iranians are under the age of 30 and millions of young Iranians are surfing the Web – many in search of hope. Presenting the gospel in plain terms exposes them to the truth and thousands are being saved in this way.
